  1. Level 1 = Basic care of stable infants born at 35 to less than 37 weeks gestation. Level 2 = Specialty care of infants born at least 32 weeks gestation or 1,500 g, with possibility of brief mechanical ventilation or CPAP. Level 3 A = Subspecialty intensive care of infants born at least 28 weeks gestation or 1,000 g with possibility of mechanical ventilation. Level 3B = Subspecialty intensive care of infants born at less than 28 weeks gestation or 1,000 g, with possibility of advanced respiratory support and access to paediatric surgical specialist. Level 3 C = As level 3B but including extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and surgical repair of complex congenital cardiac malformation
